April 6, 2018 – Back in January of this year, at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, a number of exhibitors were showing and demonstrating the latest mobility devices from folding scooters to rideable luggage to get you through airports. Seen as one of the rapidly expanding device markets, today more than 8.2 million people in the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe are dependent on scooters and other forms of mobile assistance. The market continues to expand rapidly and is expected to become a $2.4 billion US industry by 2021 according to Forbes.Â
That’s why when reader Jenny Mayer sent the new infographic appearing below, entitled Mobility Scooters 2.0, I was intrigued. Mayer describes mobility technology as going through a significant period of innovation and gives us a glance at new prototypes and products available now or soon in the United Kingdom. I am sure many of these will soon find there way to global markets. So if you have mobility issues, which many seniors do today, then I’m hoping the infographic can serve as a good starting point for your research into future mobility options.Â
