Quebec-based Lito Green Motion has developed an all-electric motor bike that comes with a 12 Kilowatt lithium-polymer battery. Called the Sora which means “sky” in Japanese, the bike has a range of 300 kilometers (185 miles) per charge. Using a conventional outlet it takes 8 hours to recharge. Using a quick charge system the process takes only 90 minutes. And when it is done the bike notifies you by email.
What also makes this bike different than other electric vehicles? It comes with a “safe range system” that tells you the amount of energy you need to get from where you are to where you want to go. All you do is input your goal in the on board GPS and see the results.
The Sora chassis is aluminum. The ride is quiet and described by those who have driven it as sensational. It even comes with a fully adjustable electric seat.
Top speed is 200 Kilometers (125 miles) per hour.
Pickup and performance is exceptional, something that is common to almost all electric vehicles whether on 2 or 4 wheels.
Sora produces no emissions. It has fewer mechanical working parts which means less maintenance.
It’s a bike rider’s dream except when it comes to price. Sora is currently listed at $41,000, considerably more than a top priced Harley.
